April is GreenUp Newton! To celebrate Earth Day (April 22), the Division of Environmental Affairs is hosting a month of earth-friendly activities. Fun ways to celebrate: Visit the Recycling Depot at Rumford Ave! Open Monday through Friday from 7:30am til 2:30pm and Saturdays from 7:30am to 12:30pm, you can recycle your paper, cardboard, bottles, and cans. You can also drop off scrap metal, batteries, and fluorescent bulbs.

Check out the Recycling Exhibit at the Newton Free Library all month long! Find out what can be made from recycled materials. Participate in the 11th Annual Charles River Clean Up on Saturday, April 24 from 9am to 12pm.
