Questions and Answers:
What do I have to do?
Track your household’s
trash. It’s easy. We will send you a tracking log each month (or
you can download it yourself) and each week when you put your trash and
recycling out to the curb, record how many trash bags or barrels you set out,
along with number recycling bins and bags.
Each month, when your tracking log is complete, send in the results to recycling@newtonma.gov. We will keep track of your progress.
What if I’m going away on vacation or to
summer camp?
No problem, just leave that
week’s log blank. Have a great time and
practice your recycling habits away from home.
I have a great recycling tip that I’d
like to share with other trash trackers.
That’s great! We’d love to hear from you, please send it in
and it may even make next month’s tracking log!
We put our trash in bags and then put
them in barrels on the curb, do I count the number of bags AND barrels?
Only count the number of bags
that are not in barrels.
