Mercury is an element that can be harmful to human health and the environment if not managed properly. It is found in several household items such as thermostats and thermometers. Please bring your mercury containing devices to the Recycling Depot at Rumford Ave.

Fluorescent Bulbs

While their use is encouraged for energy efficiency, fluorescent bulbs should not be thrown away with regular trash; instead they need to be disposed of properly since they contain mercury. We accept fluorescent bulbs at the Recycling Depot.
