03/07/2005	The Designer Selection Committee met last Wednesday, March 2, 2005. David Rogers, of Palmer and Dodge, the City’s outside counsel, was invited to answer questions pertaining to the new “Construction Manager at Risk” legislation. The Committee also resumed the Project Manager selection process, whereby the Committee short-listed three Project Management firms for the Newton North High School project. The short list has been forwarded to the Mayor for a final selection. Interviews for the three finalists, (1) R.F. Walsh, (2) Turner and (3) Gilbane have been set up for Friday, March 11, 2005.
01/04/2005	The Designer Selection Committee met on Monday, January 3rd to review the 12 applications for Project Manager. They selected five firms to bring in for interviews (Alphabetically): Gilbane Building Company of Needham Heery International of Lexington PMA Consultants of Braintree R.F. Walsh Company, Inc. of Boston Turner Construction Company of Boston The Selection Committee will be holding the interviews on January 25th and 26th and expect to provide the Mayor with three names by February 7th.

Newton North High School Citizen's Task Force

Mayor David B. Cohen, School Committee Chairwoman Anne Larner, and Board President Brooke Lipsitt announce the selection of Dr. Michael Jellinek to chair the Newton North High School Citizens' Task Force.

Meetings will be held at Newton North High School on Mondays from 5 to 7 p.m. and citizen members are expected to attend each of likely a dozen weekly meetings starting January 13, 2003.

Findings of the Task Force will be reported in writing to the Board of Aldermen, Mayor Cohen and the School Committee by May 15, 2003.

Since putting the renovation of Newton North High School on hold , Mayor Cohen has been working with other city leaders to develop a process for moving forward. Mayor's Letter
