The Card shows: A halftone print with applied tints of a photographic view of the Metropolitan Police station on the Charles at Norumbega, with canoes in the water and more on the launching deck of the station.

The card show some characteristics of a "white border" card -- printing technology and paper stock -- but the use of color is different from classic white-border cards. The publication date is perhaps after World War I. The title gives another clue to dating the card. The structure, which had been built to house a constabulary to maintain order on the river, was turned over to the Metropolitan District Commission in 1919, and afterward was called the MDC boathouse.

The publisher's credit, "Pub. by C. E. Josselyn, Newton, Mass." runs vertically up the left edge of the divided back. The card carries no number, edge. Like the MNC card numbered 7569, this one has a three-quarter divided back.

The card is in good condition, with some corner wear. The back is clean except for the Jackson Homestead stamp and a notation, "Chas. R. Box" in ballpoint pen.

Postcard type: White Border
Estimated Date of Publication: About 1919
