NEWTON HOARDING TASK FORCE

DEPARTMENT / AGENCY RESPONSIBILITIES

FIRE, POLICE AND AMR

• Identify
• File Report
• Make appropriate referral

HOUSING INSPECTOR

• Communicate with hoarding task force
• Contact with client
• Schedule home visit for assessment
• Court order (if client is resistant)
•  Identification/written notification of violations

COMMUNITY SOCIAL WORKER /PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE

• Initial contact with client 
• Home visit for assessment
• Communicate with hoarding task force
• Appropriate referral to other departments or agencies
• Follow up and monitor progress

PROTECTIVE SERVICES

• Assessment
• Determine eligibility for services
• Identify resources
• Medical/psychiatric referral

                                       
MENTAL HEALTH INTERVENTION

• Psychiatric evaluation
• Cognitive behavioral therapy
• Counseling
• In home support
• Socialization
