The Card shows: This card is a montage of six of the cards from the "Script RP" series of Real Photo views of Newton, arranged in two rows across the card in horizontal format. Top row: (1) "Echo Bridge, Newton Upper Falls, Mass. 178," (2) "Old Mill . . . " (remainder of caption and number illegible), (3) "Rustic Bridge and Devil's Den, Newton Upper Falls, Mass. 292." Lower row: (4) "Hemlock Gorge Reservation, Newton Upper Falls, Mass. 287," (5) "The Square, Newton Upper Falls, Mass. 303," (6) "Charles River (. . .) Newton Upper Falls, Mass. 296." The individual card images have been given white borders, which the actual cards did not have. The card is printed on photographic card stock with the "Post Card" on the back appearing in capitals in a rust open face. The swash on the capital "C" curls under. The card was mailed on Sept. 3, 1918, to Miss L. Sommer, Rotterdam Jct., New York. The message reads, "I have been watching [for] a line from you every day. How are you and Myrtle, also your father. Hope you are all well. Where is Anna and how is she? I had a card from George Sat. saing he got over safe on the other side. Write soon. Love from Jorie." A postscript adds, "Elmer is quite a boy and speaks about you quite often." The back is marked in pencil "50" in the lower right corner and "A7253 10-" at top center.
