The Card shows: Colored lithograph of a photographic view of buildings and a dock on the river framed by the trunk and drooping branches of a large old tree to very good aesthetic effect. The boathouse is on the Needham side of the Charles and the Central Avenue of the caption is apparently in Needham rather than Newton. The manufacturer's number 214669 appears in the lower right corner of the card front. The full manufacturer's credit runs vertically up the left edge of the card back: "Leighton and Valentine Co., New York City. Printed in United States" and the company's logo is centered atop the divider line, "Quality L & V Co. in a green triangle surrounded by "Famous Throughout the World." The card was postmarked from Lowelll, Mass., on Sept. 27, 1912 and addressed to Miss Finnaconi (or Finnacom), R.F.D. 3, Dracut, Mass. The message reads, "Many, many thanks for the beautiful bouquet. It was just lovely. I was in Newton yesterday and got this card there. Be sure to make your plans for all hands to come & see me. With Respects to all. A. W. Henderson."
