"Charles River, Newton Upper Falls, Mass."

Manufacturer: [Unknown]

Publisher: Tucker, C. O.

Village: Auburndale
Filed: Charles River - Norumbega Park
Keywords: Rivers / Brooks

The Card shows: This real-photo view shows the Charles without people or canoes -- a small stream between shady, tree-lined banks, with a hint of open meadow on the left.

The view is perhaps part of a series taken by the same photographer on the same day that also includes views of the river at Newton Lower Falls, the Boylston Street bridge, and a generic view of the river.

This card is unused, and the back is clean except for the publisher's credit along the left edge. There is no stamp box. The paper stock is stamped in a divided-back design with "POST CARD" in rustic open capitals. The complet publisher's credit runs vertically up the left edge of the card: "Published by C. O. Tucker, Boston, Mass."

The caption on the front appears in the same white misaligned typewriter capitals that characterize other Tucker cards. Some of these cards carry postmarks in the 1912-1914 period, so a similar date is assigned to this card.

This card, like the "Charles River, Newton" card, is in poor condition, creased horizontally across the middle. The upper left corner is damaged.

Postcard type: Real Photo
Estimated Date of Publication: About 1912
