The Card shows: A monochrome lithograph of a photographic view of the aqueduct from a viewoint on the western bank of the Charles just above the dam at the lower end of Hemlock Gorge. The river is very low -- a dock on the eastern bank is high above the water. The still water perfectly reflects the arch above. The card is marked "Copyright 1905 by the Rotograph Co." above the caption. There is a variant version of this card in the collection: See the card numbered G 6962 for a fuller explanation. The card was postmarked Feb. 10, 1906 from the Roxbury Station in Boston, and addressed to Miss Jennie Brover, Melman Square, Nova Scotia. the message on the front of the card is obscured by an ink smear, but appears to read, "February 8th, 1906. We are all quite well here and hope it is the same with you. We are having a mild winter. With love from Uncle Geo & Aunt Eunice." The card is in good condition with some edge and corner wear and bending. Postcard type: Undivided Back Publication Date: 1905 Postmark Date: 1906 |
