Revisit legendary Norumbega Park and the Totem Pole, "America's Most Beautiful Ballroom." For 66 years this was the place for canoeing, amusements, and dancing to the big bands! Thirty-minute tours of the exhibit are available for groups of up to 12. Cost is $3 per person, and includes museum admission. Don't miss your chance to visit Norumbega Park! Call Allison Carter at 617-796-1450 to schedule. Programs for Adult Groups The Jackson Homestead and Museum offers two staff-directed, accessible programs for adult groups.
"The Underground Railroad" explores the abolition activity of the Jackson family prior to the Civil War. Participants explore documents and oral traditions that reveal the use of The Jackson Homestead as a stop on the Underground Railroad. The program ends with free time to explore the permanent History Gallery and Abolition Room. For programs at the Jackson Homestead, the fee per program is $3.00 per participant, for up to 25 people. Each program lasts for 45 minutes and chairs are provided for each participant; shorter or longer programs may be arranged. Street parking is available; groups with personal vehicles or small vans may park in the driveway. With advance notice, space in the museum or on the grounds (weather permitting) is available for groups that wish to bring a lunch. Plan extra time to visit the Museum Shop.
